Pride in Our Past Grants

Since 1977, our foundation's board of directors have approved many grants to help people live healthier lives. Some of these recipient agencies no longer serve our community — and others no longer need grant support from us. We are proud of our history granting and stewarding:

  • more than $5.3 million to Our Children's House at Irving, a facility that once offered specialized childcare and therapy services for children with medical needs;
  • more than $1.1 million to Canine Companions for Independence, an agency that provides assistance dogs without charge to children and adults who have physical or psychosocial needs;
  • more than $600,000 to battle childhood and family obesity through collaborations with Irving Independent School District and the Irving Family YMCA;
  • more than $200,000 to Community Dental Care to help establish a reduced-cost dental clinic in our city.

"Our hospital covers our administrative costs. Therefore, every penny that you give goes to the specific purpose you select.

And every dollar given to help here is used locally and exactly as promised."
